She-Hulk SMASH!

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law smashes expectations of what makes a Disney+ series. The fourth-wall-breaking sitcom is a new theme for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She-Hulk is a comicbook come to life!

Hulk & She-Hulk

Tatiana Maslany who plays Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk is the star of the show and she surely does shine! Her performance captures viewers from the beginning of the series until the end. She portrays the character as accurately as the pages from Marvel Comics itself. The actress brings charisma to the character leaving viewers wanting more each episode. Her many interactions with other characters throughout the series display why she is a perfect addition to the MCU.

Throughout the series, we get a plethora of cameos from different actors and actresses which is known to be Marvel Studios’ specialty. However, these cameos are as fun as they are significant in pushing the plot forward. Marvel Studios’ awareness is on full display with the cameos and topics discussed throughout the season. She-Hulk brought obscure characters, celebrities, and returning Hulk villains to the MCU.

After fourteen years and a new Hulk, Emil Blonsky aka The Abomination played by Tim Roth returns in She-Hulk. From the introduction, it is clear Emil will be set up for a supporting role in the series. Tim plays a different take on Emil this time as the easygoing supervillain seeking redemption. While much of the Abomination feels wasted it is refreshing to clean up a Hulk storyline from the 2008 film.

Daredevil

Fans have waited patiently for the MCU debut of Daredevil and Marvel Studios finally delivered with She-Hulk. While the return of Matt Murdock played by Charlie Cox was previously showcased earlier in phase 4 in the film Spider-Man: No Way Home, the character’s alias Daredevil has yet to appear until now. The character returns from the Netflix series in which even the Netflix showrunner Steven DeKnight tweeted out in support.

Charlie’s performance dazzles viewers peeling back nostalgia but brand new and colorful excitement. It’s safe to say Charlie Cox will be sticking around as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen for quite some time.

The Finale

As the season finale comes around the show takes many twists and turns. The fourth wall break transitioning into a sitcom isn’t your typical superhero ending and the series makes that known to viewers. Jennifer ends things with her antagonists in a simplistic, yet meaningful way, while other opportunities for character development and growth present themselves in the future. One of the many plot points that’s tied up at the end is for the Hulk played by Mark Ruffalo. Hulk’s story from the time of Thor: Ragnarok to now gets all cleared up and the future for the Hulk looks promising in the MCU as well!

Bruce Banner aka The Hulk

At first, Jennifer Walters resents the idea of being “a Hulk”, however as the season comes full circle she comes to terms with her new identity. Embracing herself and what it means to be empowering both on the inside and out. The tv show is a breath of fresh air for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the superhero genre. A hilarious, lawyer drama. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is a comicbook turned into a Disney+ series!
