Harley Quinn Season 3 Review 9/10

Warning: Language!

Harley Quinn has been a hit character since she hit the scene in ‘Batman: The Animated Series’. From animated series to comicbooks to live-action movies, Harley has become a fan favorite for DC Comics. So it makes sense that her television show is damn near perfect! Season 1 and 2 of Harley Quinn set the tone for what would be a thrilling ride in Season 3.

Continuing after eloping in the Season 2 finale, Harley and Poison Ivy’s relationship has taken new heights and the villainous couple explores their marriage even further. Throughout the season their marriage and relationship with one another are challenged, however, true love conquers all. Season 3 of Harley Quinn displays one of the healthiest relationships shown on screen between comicbook characters.

Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy

While the first two seasons were about distancing and disassociating herself from the Joker, this season gives viewers some gems from the Crown Prince of Crime. Joker having a full episode to himself for character development feels right somehow as a Harley Quinn filler episode. Furthermore, the Joker takes over Gotham ironically with its best interest at heart.

Throughout the season the series has many side stories that let the supporting cast develop further than just Harley’s companions. Poison Ivy voiced by Lake Bell gets to show her true power this season and her best pal Frank voiced by J.B. Smoove plays an integral part in the plot. Clayface voiced by Alan Tudyk who also voices Joker, deals with internal struggles, while King Shark voiced by Ron Funches battles for a kingdom. The whole crew comes together towards the end and handles business as usual.

Harley & The Gang

What would a series in Gotham be without the Bat Family?

While Batman voiced by Diedrich Bader, Robin voiced by Jacob Tremblay, and Batgirl voiced by Briana Cuoco have appeared in previous seasons, this will be the first time fans get to see Nightwing voiced by Harvey Guillen. Dealing with a lack of leadership, the Bat Family seek out what it means to be a team without one. Their would-be leader struggles with trauma more than viewers are used to seeing from Batman. By the end of the season, it’s Harley and her team that saves the day, not the Bat Family.

Kaley Cuoco does an amazing job bringing the voice of this character to life & fully embodies her vulgarity. The show has amazing secondary and supporting characters with designs and voice actors and actresses that fit their respective characters. The animation is fun with blood and gore which fits the overall theme. The humor is not overtaken by the sorrow and vice versa. The plot is not overshadowed by the message of this season. Season 3 of ‘Harley Quinn’ was a hit and the series has been renewed for another season!

What can fans expect from Season 4 of Harley Quinn?
