A Single-Plyer RPG ‘Black Panther’ Game Will be Published by EA
Marvel’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con dropped some huge announcements on us and ended it with a heartfelt Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer. It didn’t take long after that to see talks of a Black Panther game in early development either.
It was first hinted at by @JeffGrubb on Twitter shortly after the Wakanda Forever trailer dropped.
Jeff gave us some details about the game during an interview. it’s to be a single-player game that starts out with the Black Panther hero passing away and the player has to take on the challenge of becoming the new Black Panther.
There are already 2 things fans are a little skeptical about, 1 is that it’s published by EA. Many aren’t fond of EA’s style when it comes to a game like this and would rather them not be associated with a Black Panther open-world game. It also doesn’t help that Insomniac Games has created such well-crafted Spider-Man games. Many people resonate with those games and want more of that style with other superheroes. Here’s what Jeff had to say about EA publishing the game.
The second thing is that it seems like the main character could be a completely made-up character instead of just being T’Challa. With everything going on with the franchise and not having a T’Challa going forward, it would certainly be nice to play as T’Challa in the game.
It would be a nice opportunity to give fans T’Challa, his origin, his story, and maybe a major event that happens in his life instead of a custom-made character. But the game is still in early development so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Either way, a Black Panther game that explores Wakanda has the potential to be pretty cool and unique. Stay tuned for more updates when more details come out for this game.
